Breastfeeding Tips For Us All To Share

alt text

This website is a central place for us to share breastfeeding tips. We no longer have access to as many breastfeeding women in everyday life, so I thought it would be a good idea for us to help each other out online.

I have found breastfeeding difficult. I managed to nurse my first baby for five weeks, even though I dreaded every single painful feed, but managed four months of  combination-feeding my second baby. It was not easy, but I really wanted to share my experiences and tips with anyone who is having similar issues. I would love to hear your advice too.

My breastfeeding problems have ranged from incredibly sore and cracked nipples, difficulties with expressing, blocked ducts and mastitis, latching on, embarrassment and anxiety associated with feeding in public, aches and pains, the need for a routine to fit around work and the rest of my family, and an incredibly lively older sibling.

When it became necessary for me to bottle feed, I was shocked by the lack of support and education available, so I am including tips for preparing and sterilising bottles, and bottle feeding out and about on my mixed feeding page.

There is also a lack of information regarding stopping breastfeeding, so I include my own experience of this and invite you to share yours.

Visit my other pages for breastfeeding tips on creams, nipple shields, clothing, bras, accessories, entertaining the older sibling, mixed feeding, books, how to stop, weight loss, pumping, mastitis, blocked ducts, sore nipples, going out and about, routine, aches and pains and more.  Please feel free to post your own experiences to help others too.
